Our programs provide services to the following:

  • Children and families from the local neighborhood who are seeking avenues for creative expression outside of school time;

  • Emerging teaching artists who want to develop  the skills needed to work with youth;

  • Teachers and schools who want to integrate the arts into their school day courses; and

  • Veteran teaching artists who seek employment and career development.

  • Tuition-free interdisciplinary multimedia art classes

  • Classes that focus on social justice, self-knowledge and healing

  • Summer and school vacation programs

  • Opportunities to work with college students to learn about college and careers in the arts

  • Literacy and STEAM-based learning opportunities

For Teaching Artists

  • A state-wide Teaching  Artist network where veteran teaching artists exchange ideas and learn from each other

  • Workshops and youth development, arts education, racial justice, equity and the arts

  • Dedicated studio and exhibition space

  • Sustainable job opportunities in school and community settings

For High School Students

  • Summer and school year internships and teaching assistantships

  • Pre-college portfolio development

For Schools and Community Organizers

  • A network of teaching artists to provide instruction based on CityArts' curriculum structure

  • Opportunities for teachers to have artists work in their classes
