TEACHING ARTISTS

HIRING TEACHING ARTISTS!

¡CityArts! seeks talented part-time Teaching Artists* to lead workshops in our community-based arts after school program for the 2020-2021 school year! 

 

Candidates should have the ability to work in person and/or on digital platforms such as Google Classrooms, Google Meet, Zoom.

​

We are seeking experienced Teaching Artists with skills in: 

​

  • Fine Arts /Mixed Media

  • Filmmaking 

  • Photography

  • Dance and Movement

  • Music and Sound Production

  • Ceramics and Sculpture

​

*¡CityArts! prioritizes BIPOC applicants. It is integral for our program staff to reflect the identities of our students.

COVER LETTER PROMPTS:

  • Why would you like to be a Teaching Artist at ¡CityArts!? What do you hope to gain from the experience? 

  • What skills and experience make you uniquely qualified to take on this work?

  • What skills do you feel you’d like to further develop in order to become a more successful art educator?

  • Describe your own artistic practice. How does your work as an artist inform your teaching?

  • Describe a class that you would like to teach at ¡CityArts!. What skills and understandings would students gain through your class?

**Portfolio of work (on a CD or emailed in .pdf or .jpg format):  5 digital images of personal artwork and 3-5 examples of student work created under the teaching artist’s guidance (you may also include sample lesson plans that give a sense of teaching style).
