Our vision and history
Providence CityArts for Youth’s mission is ensuring Providence youth have equal access to performing and visual arts programs, unhindered by socio-economic barriers. Since 1992, ¡CityArts! has offered free in-school, after-school, and summer arts education to thousands of the city’s youth, ages 8 - 14. We believe an arts education is central to youth empowerment, community building, and social change.

WHAT WE DO
-
Help create friendships.

-
Connect diverse artists with youth, teachers, community organizations and schools, for arts residencies that ignite the creativity of youth through project-based learning.
-
Help develop the next generation of diverse artists to grow professionally as community leaders, teachers and artists.
OUR supporting partners
"CityArts residencies have inspired teachers and students alike. CityArts teaching artists have created public exhibitions and performances that have increased school spirit, brought a sense of community to the entire school population, and helped to beautify the school with murals, posters and art installations."
- Arzinia Gill, Principal at Del Sesto Middle School, a partner school for six years.
