PARTNERSHIPS
CityArts is proud to collaborate and partner with numerous organizations to provide unique art programming for youth.
Serve Rhode Island/AmeriCorps
CityArts works with the RI State Commission for National Community Service to provide more than 6000 hours of additional arts education for Providence youth. Our evaluation of this successful AmeriCorps program demonstrates that students improve engagement in learning, and supports teachers use of hands on and project based learning in their classes.
Providence Public Schools
CityArts is the city's leader in bringing artists in residence into public schools that have been forced to cut arts programs. We have partnered with schools for twelve years, and are on the school's Arts Leadership Teams, and integrated into their School Improvement Plans. Current partners include Del Sesto and Roger Williams Middle Schools.
Colleges and Universities
CityArts works with Brown, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Rhode Island College and other local universities to introduce undergraduate and graduate students to community arts education. We host five classes annually including Community Lens, a class in the Providence College Global Studies Department, and Community Art Practicum, a course offered through RISD's Art Education Department.
Providence Youth Arts Collaborative
A coalition of diverse non-profit community-based arts organizations using arts education as a strategy to empower the youth of Providence and greater Rhode Island. The Providence Youth Arts Collaborative consists of 8 organizations that provide over 8,000 hours of free arts education to over 1,600 youth each year: CityArts, New Urban Arts, Manton Avenue Project, Community MusicWorks, Everett, Girls Rock, Downcity Design and AS220 Youth.
